Born in 2004, our first filly to arrive from Connemara - purchased as a foal from the Clifden sales in October 2004. A dark dun with a generous wide brow, kind eyes and a cheeky temperament. She has grown into a lovely stamp of pony, with true Connemara character.
She has really excellent old Irish bloodlines with influential sires Thunderbolt & Loobeen Larry, plus indomitable brood mares Muffy & Hazel Dun on her sire's side, as well as Ormond Oliver and the Sparrow jumping lineage on her dam's side. She was backed in 2007 and turned away after being scanned in foal.
Kiera has the typical action of a pony born and bred in Connemara, with that lovely elevated trot and canter - made for covering rocky terrain with ease.
She is strong and sturdy with good bone and hard feet, and is the true-to-type traditional connemara pony who could quite easily live in connemara with its mountains and bogs.
