Caillie is a lovely golden dun mare who had already bred two foals when purchased from the October 2005 sales in Connemara. She is a wonderful brood mare who has thrown fillies to date - all of the same stamp - with excellent conformation and action.
Her dam, Castle Cailin Ard, had a cracking 2006 showing year, coming 3rd at Clifden, Supreme Champion at Claddaghduff & taking All Ireland Supreme Champion at Roundstone. In 2010 she achieved Reserve Champion at the Clifden Show in her 18th year. Her grand-dam is Castle Dame - also the dam of Wembley winner Castle Comet. Her sire, Commanding Hero - Grade A showjumper with progeny often placed in the loose jumping competition in Clifden - goes back to MacDara on his sire's side and Carna Bobby on his dam's side.
Caillie breeding is for showing - she produces foals that have the substance and conformation for the show ring - proved by the successes of TawnyDun Caramel in Northern Ireland . However, she does have excellent jumping bloodlines from her sire as well as from her great grandsire on her dam’s side - Cuchulainn - in her pedigree.
